Who We Are
Triumphant Spirit Foundation
Triumphant Spirit Foundation was founded by Colonel Don "Doc" Ballard, a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient who threw himself on a live grenade in Vietnam to save the lives of his fellow Marines.
Wounded eight times in combat, Colonel Ballard returned home and turned his sacrifice into a lifelong commitment: ensuring that no veteran is forgotten, overlooked, or left without support. Through the Forgotten Veterans Program, the foundation covers funeral costs and arranges dignified burials for veterans who have no one else to turn to. Through Amateur Radio outreach, the foundation introduces veterans to the world of ham radio; a powerful tool for communication, connection, community, and mentoring the next generation that gives veterans renewed purpose and a place to belong.
Rooted in sacrifice, gratitude, and an unshakable belief that every veteran deserves to be seen, Triumphant Spirit Foundation stands as a living promise to those who gave everything for this country.
